Bacon Rocket
Mar 8th
What do you get when you cross bacon with a rocket? A bacon rocket of course. Some resourceful chaps from the UK (I’m assuming) decided to find out how well a rocket made out of bacon would fly. Not very well, it turns out. Maybe ham? Someone jump on it. Honestly, I don’t get the whole craze about bacon. Maybe because I was never raised on the stuff. I do know a few people who would kill over bacon. Something for everyone, I suppose. The song was fun though. “Bacon and rocketry, in perfect harmony!” [via Geekologie]
Germaphobe

Here’s another video from the Fully Sick Rapper. I really love this guy’s stuff. His videos and lyrics are kind of weird, and the beats are sick. Here’s to the guy getting better, but hopefully even if he does he’ll continue making videos.
Mega Shark vs Airplane
Mar 5th
Somewhere, someone thought it would be a great idea to make a film which involves a giant, and what i can only assume is magic, shark. Oh, and a giant octopus too. Can’t forget that. It stars Lorenzo Lamas of Renegade “fame”, and although I haven’t seen it and probably never will, I can assume it’s probably a horrible, horrible movie. Now, I don’t mind watching movies that are cheesy and over the top, but from the following clip, this thing looks neigh unwatchable. I don’t even think the MST3K guys can make me want to watch something as stupid as this. Check out the clip of the magic shark eating an airplane after the jump. [via Boing Boing] More >
Tuberculosis Rap
Mar 3rd
Fully Sick Rapper, aka Christiaan Van Vuuren from Australia has been stuck in quarantine for TB for months. In order to not go completely insane, he started making his own rap videos.
I was eventually let out of hospital on the 2nd Jan, but then brought back in on the 18th Jan and diagnosed with a more serious form of TB… As a result, I have been back in quarantine since the 18th Jan, and all up now I have spent 55 days on the inside of a single room in hospital… This is starting to take it’s toll on my mental stability, and this song is about the impact (or lack thereof) it has had so far.
Now I don’t know whether or not I want him to get well. I’d like to see a few more of these. P.S. Chris, it’s a Clonetrooper helmet. [via Boing Boing]
Eugene Mirman is Hilarious
Mar 3rd
I’ve been following Eugene Mirman on Twitter for quite some time and he’s absolutely hilarious. I’d say he’s probably one of my top favorite comics out right now. He was asked by Grist to cover the Copenhagen Climate Summit a while back, which was great. From what I understand this is a video he made for his 2009 Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival. I’m not sure what all the details are, but it’s pretty funny. [Eugene Mirman]
Obama Caught Lip-Synching
Mar 3rd

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Something like this I can believe happening to Ashlee Simpson and probably a slew of other “artists”, but Obama? America’s sweetheart? Simply unbelievable. I don’t know how he’s going to recover after this. With all the controversy and plummeting approval ratings, America is going to have a hard time trusting daddy ‘Bama going forward. Video after the jump. More >
Ok Go Video
Mar 2nd
I have no idea who this band is or what they play, but this video is definitely worth checking out. It’s an insane Rube Goldberg machine that they set up to run throughout the course of the song. It runs two floors and apparently is synched up with the music. It’s kind of similar to that other video from that other band that I don’t know, but this one looks a lot more complex. Ted’s Birthday
Mar 2nd
Improv Everywhere are a group of people who are responsible for some of the most hilarious pranks around. They’ve brought us hilarious stunts such as Slo-Mo Home Depot (my personal favorite), the Best Buy prank, and certainly not least No Pants Subway Ride. In this prank they pick out a guy at a bar at random and pretend it’s his birthday. I would say more, but check out the video for yourself. They actually did it a few times. You can read all about it at their site. [Improv Everywhere]
Spartan and Stormtrooper Date
Mar 2nd
Proof that everyone has a soul-mate. Although I disapprove of the use of the FX Helmet, it’s a nice little heartwarming tale about love. That is, until Lord Vader finds out. I’ll assume the story will read like Romeo & Juliet, IN SPACE! Epic starship battles, and laser beams, and space explosions will all culminate in an all too familiar ending. I assume it won’t be poison that does each of our star-crossed lovers in, but high explosives, in the form of Thermal Detonators and Sticky Grenades. [via Kotaku]
