Alice in Wonderland

Alright, so I got a bit lazy when it came to writing this review. I went to check the movie out for opening night. Yes, at 12:01 on a Thursday. It’s now Wednesday, and I honestly don’t really feel like writing it. How do you write a review about a mediocre movie that was as mediocre as you thought it was going to be? I guess we’re about to find out. Hit the jump for the entire review. Some spoilers ahead. More >
Tron Legacy

Finally a movie I can be excited for. Even though it’s just a sequel to a great classic movie I grew up on, I don’t mind it so much because it looks freaking amazing. Jeff Bridges reprises his role as as Kevin Flynn in this one, albeit it doesn’t look like he’s the main character this time around. Apparently he’s got a son, who decides to follow in his daddy’s footsteps. I saw the second trailer when I went to the opening of Alice and I was blown away. The bikes look awesome, the races look awesome, pretty much everything looks bad ass. And as much as I was an opponent to 3D, it’s actually starting to interest me. Especially with this flick. Click the jump for the second trailer. More >
Mega Shark vs Airplane
Mar 5th
Somewhere, someone thought it would be a great idea to make a film which involves a giant, and what i can only assume is magic, shark. Oh, and a giant octopus too. Can’t forget that. It stars Lorenzo Lamas of Renegade “fame”, and although I haven’t seen it and probably never will, I can assume it’s probably a horrible, horrible movie. Now, I don’t mind watching movies that are cheesy and over the top, but from the following clip, this thing looks neigh unwatchable. I don’t even think the MST3K guys can make me want to watch something as stupid as this. Check out the clip of the magic shark eating an airplane after the jump. [via Boing Boing] More >
Avatar Review
Feb 22nd
Where to begin? Alright, so I saw this movie twice. Yes twice in IMAX 3D. Not because I loved the plot, and the love story, or the lesson for mankind about damaging the environment or any of that other hippie bullshit. I went twice because it was visually AMAZING. You might be asking why I would do a review on a movie that’s been out for months. It’s because I can. Now hit the jump for the rest of the article. More >
